Iron Cross
The Iron Cross is the highest military award in Germany: the iron cross, a silver border frames, was established by Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia in 1813 during the wars with Napoleon. During the Second World War, Hitler added a Nazi swastika to the cross, it was officially removed in 1957.
